I recently ran across a family tree written in 1973 by Lila Henke, a distant
relative of mine in the Timm family tree. Several people in the family tree
lived in Crawford Co., IA and I was wondering if you might have any other
information on my family history that I don't have (or vice versa if you are
intersted). I am starting a project to put this information on my website
(nothing is posted yet).
Reimer Timm (1847-1921) married to Catherine Jebens (1845-1931), my
great-great-grandparents were buried in Hanover Church yard, Ricketts, IA.
They had five children: William, Henry Reimer (my great-grandfather), Herman,
Emil, and Mary Louise. Reimer Timm was from Hamburg, Germany and came to the
U.S. when he was about 17 yrs. old to avoid doing the German Compulcery
Military Service. He and his father-in-law (a Mr. Jebens served in the
Danish Army, married to Maria Jebens) had a wagon wheel factory in Eastern
Iowa.
William (1869-1896) born in Davenport, IA. A farmer. Buried at Rock Branch,
IA
Married to Anna Catherine Gluesing (Glueson?) (1872-1940) in 1896
Had 4 children.
Henry Reimer (1872-1959) born in DeWitt, IA.
Married Bertha Hoffman in 1905.
Owned and Operated several hardware stores.
Lived in Ricketts, IA in 1907.
Lived in South Dakota between 1910 and 1917.
Had 3 children: Gladys, Everett (my grandfather), and Donald.
Herman (1874-1966). Born in Grand Mound, IA. Buried in DeWitt, IA.
Married Anna Hilbert (1881-1950) in 1901.
5 children.
Emil Timm (1876-1943), was evidently the Vice President of a bank in Charter
Oak, IA in the early 1900. He was married to Dora Matilda Bueoy in 1906 and
had two children, Ethel Timm (1908-?) and Alyce Timm (1914-1935). Ethel
married Page Moorhead in 1928 and resided in Moorhead, IA. I saw on the web
page of the history of Crawford County, that there is (was) a Timm school
house, evidently Lutheran, in Charter Oak. I was wondering if it is still
there and if it is named after Emil or another of my relatives.
Mary Louise Timm (1978-1927)
Married Andrew Buckley
had 2 children
Thanks for any information that you may have.
-Sean Timm
